• Sanatan law states: Wherever there is a rule there will be a rule breaker. In business we all like the idea of Rules- with their promise of predictability.<\/li>\n
• On one hand we revere Lord Ram who follows rules & we also worship Lord Krishna who bends them.<\/li>\n
• Both are right. Both are divine.<\/li>\n
• Indian mythology never gives prescriptions. It gives frameworks.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

  Frameworks provided by Indian mythology can be applied in our day to day life, especially in the cases of conflicts.<\/i><\/b><\/p>\n

  • 3 categorizes of leaders according to Jain mythological framework: \u201cVasudev, Chakravarti, Tirthankar\u201d.\n

    • Vasudev – Rule breakers who do so to (re)establish justice or a new balance. Entrepreneurs fall under this category.<\/li>\n
    • Chakravarti:\u00a0 A Ruler who controls & establishes systems. He is the \u2018King\u2019; makes laws and creates stability. E.g. Auditors, regulators, most CEO\u2019s.<\/li>\n
    • Tirthankar – Someone who can find a balance between the Chakravartis & Vasudevs… He understands that both are important for sustained, systemic growth and change.\u00a0 E.g. Chief Mentor (Narayan Murthy, KV Kamath)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n
    • An example of a Vasudev : Krishna.<\/li>\n
    • An example of Chakravarti : Rama.<\/li>\n
    • A Tirthankar is he who finds the \u2018fjord\u2019 \u2013 the bridge between the two .<\/li>\n
    • \u2018Fjord\u2019 means a bridge which already exists, awaiting discovery. (origin: Norwegian).<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

      • The predictability of \u2018Stability\u2019 and \u2018disruptiveness of growth\u2019 are important \u2013 and the Leader has to often play the role of the \u201cTirthankar\u201d \u2013 judiciously calibrating the amount of each needed in a given situation.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n
