A retailer is the face, who sells\nyou products required for your daily needs. A retail store is that one store on\nevery corner of the country. A retail store is the dinner fix after a working\nday. A retail store is that favorite spot for kids where pocket money is spent\non the favorite chocolate. A retailer helps consumers decide on products based\non their pocket. A retailer helps the brand place their products in front of\nthe consumers. All of us must have been, seen, grown up seeing a retailer in a\nretail store.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I, a retailer, have seen retail\nindustry evolve in the last few decades. I have seen my father working as a retailer\nand later I have seen the journey through my eyes. A very unbelievable fact is\nthat there was no one to hear us out, solve our issues, and help with the mind\nblocks we face in our business. I tried getting in touch with a few retailers\nin my area and we started helping each other in the problems faced by us. Soon,\nthere were many small retailers joining in and we grew stronger, yet a small\nassociation named \u2018Retailers Food Dealer\u2019s Welfare Association\u2019. We found\nsomething missing. We were all by ourselves, some problems remained unsolved,\nand some unawareness always remained. We had no one to look up to.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A friend once referred RAI. We\nimmediately got in touch with the CEO Kumar Rajagopalan. I subscribed for RAI\nand attended a few summits organized by them. We took away some important\nlessons from top officials of Dmart, Future Group, Reliance Fresh and many\nmore. CCTV\u2019s were installed, inventory management software\u2019s were brought in\nand technology was learnt, online payment started making its way via QR code\nand debit\/credit cards, which in turn has upgraded our processes, which didn\u2019t\nexist previously. These solutions have helped in smooth running of our\nbusinesses. Our retail business has got a new perspective.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

RAI has provided a stage where\nretailers exchange their ideas. We have come across many association\u2019s who work\nfor the betterment of retailers but we really appreciate the change brought in\nby RAI.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Through RAI\u2019s affiliate\nmembership, our association has got a boost towards advancement. The best part\nis that there is a professional working behind problems related to the\ngovernment, GST, license department, etc.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The last summit was a retail\ntechnology conclave. Industry experts were talking about the future of retail\nlike cashless payments, digital commerce, robotics and artificial intelligence.\nThere were also panel discussions for retailers and by retailers where we\nlanded up on the common conclusion that we are ready to adapt and evolve as per\nthe new technology but the limited availability of service centers and none in\nMumbai makes situations worse when technology breaks down.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Retail sector has both\nunorganized and organized parts. These are two different worlds. We appreciate RAI\u2019s\nefforts towards this organic switch from unorganized to organized sector,\ntowards the upliftment of retail sector and retailers and just being there in\nthis fast moving business world.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
